Traditional Chinese Medicine
Services & Modalities
In this office, care is rooted in the time-honored principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and guided by a modern, integrative approach. Each treatment is thoughtfully tailored to address the root cause of imbalance—not just symptoms—supporting your body’s innate ability to heal.

Modalities include acupuncture, dry needling, fire cupping, moxibustion, tui na therapeutic bodywork, and gua sha to relieve pain, regulate the nervous system, and restore optimal function. Lifestyle and nutritional counseling provide practical, personalized strategies for sustainable wellness, while advanced lab testing offers deeper insight into hormonal health, inflammation, digestion, and metabolic balance.
THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Acupuncture & Dry Needling
Acupuncture is a core therapy within Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses ultra-fine, sterile needles to gently stimulate specific points on the body. By regulating the nervous system, improving circulation, and restoring the balanced flow of qi (vital energy), acupuncture supports the body’s natural healing processes. It is commonly used to address pain, stress and anxiety, hormonal imbalances, digestive concerns, sleep disturbances, and overall wellness.
Dry needling is a modern, orthopedic technique that targets myofascial trigger points—tight bands within muscle tissue that contribute to pain, tension, and restricted movement. By releasing these areas of dysfunction, dry needling helps reduce inflammation, improve mobility, and accelerate recovery from both acute and chronic injuries.
While both therapies use thin needles, their frameworks differ. Acupuncture works through a comprehensive, whole-body lens, while dry needling focuses specifically on neuromuscular dysfunction. When clinically appropriate, these approaches can be integrated to provide precise, effective, and individualized care.

THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Fire Cupping
Fire cupping is a traditional therapeutic technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses gentle suction to stimulate circulation, release muscular tension, and promote the free flow of qi and blood. By briefly warming the air inside glass cups and placing them on the skin, a vacuum is created that lifts the underlying tissue, encouraging detoxification, reducing inflammation, and relieving pain. This therapy is especially beneficial for tight or overworked muscles, chronic pain, stress-related tension, respiratory congestion, and recovery from physical strain. The suction effect helps decompress tissues, improve lymphatic drainage, and restore mobility.
While cupping may leave temporary circular marks on the skin, these are not bruises—they are a normal therapeutic response and typically fade within a few days. Treatments are customized to your comfort level and integrated thoughtfully into your overall care plan to support deep, lasting healing.
THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Moxibustion (moxa)
Moxibustion is a gentle, warming therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses the herb mugwort (Artemisia) to stimulate specific acupuncture points. The therapeutic heat penetrates deeply into the body, promoting circulation, strengthening the immune system, and supporting the smooth flow of qi and blood.
This technique is particularly beneficial for conditions associated with cold or deficiency patterns, including fatigue, digestive weakness, menstrual discomfort, fertility support, and certain types of pain. The warmth of moxa helps nourish the body, enhance vitality, and encourage balance from the inside out.
Moxibustion may be used on its own or integrated with acupuncture to amplify therapeutic results. Treatments are always tailored to your individual presentation, creating a safe, restorative experience that supports long-term wellness.

THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Tui Na
Tui Na is a therapeutic form of Chinese medical bodywork rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using rhythmic compression, acupressure, mobilization, and targeted manual techniques, Tui Na works along acupuncture channels and specific points to restore the smooth flow of qi and blood throughout the body.
Unlike relaxation massage, Tui Na is a clinical therapy designed to address specific patterns of imbalance. It is especially effective for musculoskeletal pain, neck and back tension, headaches, sports injuries, digestive concerns, and stress-related conditions. Techniques may range from gentle and soothing to more focused and corrective, depending on your needs.
Tui Na can be used as a standalone treatment or integrated with acupuncture and other modalities to enhance results. Each session is tailored to support structural alignment, improve mobility, regulate the nervous system, and promote lasting balance.
THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a traditional technique within Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses a smooth-edged tool to gently “scrape” the skin in specific areas of the body. This controlled, therapeutic stimulation increases circulation, releases muscle tension, and promotes the smooth flow of qi and blood.
Often used for neck and shoulder tension, headaches, back pain, and recovery from illness or physical strain, Gua Sha helps break up stagnation and reduce inflammation. The treatment can also support immune function and lymphatic drainage, making it beneficial during times of stress or seasonal transitions.
Gua Sha may create temporary redness or light markings on the skin, which are a normal response and typically fade within a few days. Sessions are always adjusted to your comfort level and thoughtfully integrated into your overall care plan to support deeper healing and lasting relief.
